Our 7.6 acre private pond is more than just water — it’s the centerpiece of Whispering Pines Retreat. Whether you’re here to fish, swim, float, or simply sit and listen, the pond anchors every stay.

• Fishing: Fully stocked and professionally managed with largemouth bass and bluegill, enjoy catch ac‭-and‭release fishing from the dock, canoe or kayak, with a convenient fish cleaning station nearby.
• Swimming & Floating: Spring‭fed waters keep parts of the pond refreshingly cool during warmer months. Bring rafts or just jump in for a swim.
• Boating: Use the canoe, kayak or pedal boat for a leisurely paddle. Life jackets are provided and required for all watercraft use.

Spring‭fed Pool & Creek

A natural spring feeds parts of the pond and a nearby creek, creating clear, cool water year‭round. Many guests enjoy wading or floating here on hot Texas afternoons.

Trails & Wildlife

Explore miles of trails that wind through 300 acres of forest, pastures and wetlands. Watch for deer, foxes, songbirds, herons and other wildlife along the way. Wildflowers bloom in spring and early summer, and the open meadows make for stunning star‭gazing on clear nights.

Ranger EV Adventures

For guests seeking a bit more exploration, we offer an optional Ranger EV side‭by‭side rental. This quiet, electric vehicle lets you tour the full property with ease. Please inquire about availability and guidelines if you’re interested in adding this to your stay.
