Welcome to the heart of Whispering Pines Retreat — a 6-acre pond that’s more than just water. It’s the place where mornings start with coffee on the dock, afternoons invite a paddle across still water, and evenings end with stars mirrored on the surface. Whether you’re here to fish, float, or simply sit and listen, the pond is a highlight of every stay.
Peaceful Reflections
Many guests say the pond is their favorite place simply to relax and recharge:
- Watch herons glide across the water.
- Sit quietly on the dock at sunrise or sunset.
- Stargaze over the glassy surface under East Texas’ dark skies.
It’s more than a pond — it’s the quiet centerpiece of Whispering Pines.
Fishing at Whispering Pines
Our pond is fully stocked and professionally managed, offering some of the best private-water fishing in East Texas.

- Bluegill & Panfish – plentiful and perfect for kids (no limit).
- Catch-and-release encouraged – to keep the pond thriving for future guests.

A fish cleaning station with sink, knife, and cutting board is provided near the cabin for your convenience.
Canoe, Kayak & Waterfront Fun
Guests have complimentary use of a canoe and kayak, perfect for exploring the pond or casting a line from the middle of the water.
- Life jackets provided and required for safety.
- Easy access from the private dock steps away from the cabin.
Good to Know
- Children must be supervised at all times near the water.
- Life jackets must be worn when boating.
- Please respect the pond’s ecology by observing catch limits.
